Just a few snippets from my studio workings. Lots of fasett vessels being made, an unfinished wall hanging and some new timber sculptures/ totems for an installation in the Craft Vic window (going in 5th of Feb) which are works in progress!

Daylesford. Beach. Sun. Friends. Fun. Tofu

I just had the loveliest weekend with my besties. We went surfing in ocean grove on Saturday, the waves were 2.5-3ft which is just how I like them before coming back to Daylesford. The sun was out all weekend, we ate lots of yummy food, did Sunday morning yoga and swam in the lake and had lots of good conversation. Summer is the best. Oh, and we tried out our new tent (a bigger heavier version than my teeny 2 man hiking number) and Tilly (our jack-russell) gave it the OK.

Wow. Such inspiring work made from old unloved, forgotten teddy bears by Argentinian/ US artist Agustina Woodgate. I'm in love. Found via here

Excellent Pupils!

It was really nice to hang out with and teach a lovely group of ladies how to macrame this weekend. They were all such quick learners! I was a little apprehensive about leading a workshop at first but feel very priviledged to have been asked and to be able to pass on a handcraft skill to other women. Get away from those telly's and learn something new people, it's a new year!

I also enjoyed eating lots of Japanese food over the weekend too :)

Rag Wall Hanging

Along with making the scarves shown in my last post I have also started making a macrame wall hanging from the 2nd hand fabric. It is proving quite time consuming though (as most macrame projects usually are!) and with the orders coming in this week my play time may be over for a little while! I don't actually mind it sitting on my wall unfinished though, the strips are like streamers and it feels like there is a party in my studio (that might get old).

Off to Melbourne tomorrow for the workshop I'm holding at Harvest this weekend. I'm a little nervous as I've never taught a group a of people before. 2012 is going to be a year full of new experiences though, and I'm excited about it :)

Offcut Scarves

I have been meaning to make a scarf out of my fabric remnants for very long time, and have even been collecting bed sheets from the Bendigo op-shops when I find an interesting colour or pattern. There are so, so many sheets in op-shops!

Today mum's little Toyota overlocker and I got busy. I'm quite happy with my new scarf and although it is too warm to sport just yet I know it will get a lot of wear soon. I am really enjoying January, hot days with afternoon dips at the pool and a little more time for new creations. These yet to be titled scarves will be part of the Stämpel line-up soon.
